The Lost Boys - a Close Up special report (Source: Close Up) Here is a story that is hard to imagine could even happen in New Zealand - two boys held virtually captive in their own home for 16 years. They never went to school and struggled to read or write. They could not use a knife and fork and were only allowed to shower once a week. When finally discovered after their mother died they had few, if any, social skills. They had American accents picked up from the TV, and they were pasty and overweight from lack of exercise and junk food. All this took place in suburban Auckland, in a good neighbourhood. Their relatives have extremely strong views about their treatment. They are especially concerned now one of the boys has returned to the house and the man who controlled them for so long. Michael Holland has a special report and Mark Sainsbury talks to members of the boys' extended family. also LADY GAGA!!
